The following information contains the terms and conditions for course commencement.

A candidate’s enrolment at Breight Education is considered to be an agreement with the terms and conditions of enrolment. This course brochure is to be read in conjunction with the student’s handbook. You are required to provide Breight Education with your USI# (Unique Candidate Identifier Number) at the time of enrolment.

DURATION1 day (8.00 am to 4.00 pm)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTSParticipants must have Ability to read, write and understand English, present photo I.D. on arrival and Wear normal work clothing, enclosed footwear and remove all jewellery prior to commencement. Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
CERTIFICATIONOn successful completion of this course, students will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS202E Enter and Work in Confined Spaces and a wallet sized card.
OBJECTIVESTo give the attendees such knowledge and skills that enables them to enter and work in confined spaces in the resources and infrastructure industries. This course covers planning and preparing for entry of confined spaces, entry and working in confined spaces, exiting confined spaces and cleaning up the work area.
CONTENT

·Define and identify different types of confined spaces

·Apply the entry requirements as per AS 2865

·Carry out hazard identification, assessment and control

·Understand the Legislation, Regulations and Standards applicable to Enter and Work in Confined Spaces

·Follow and apply isolation procedures and methods

·Understand and apply atmospheric management and monitoring

·Carry out purging, ventilation and cleaning requirements

·Accurately apply and follow entry permits

·Knowledge of use of PPE including respiratory protective equipment, lifelines and harnesses

·Follow rescue procedures

·Understand and apply the roles and responsibilities of standby personnel

 
COURSE DELIVERY

This course will be delivered in our Training Facility at 1 Eyre St, Rivervale, with practical assessments delivered at the same premises – this assessment is delivered over 1 day. Additional time may be required where a Candidate requires additional skill

development training.

CERTIFICATION EXPIRY

Your Statement of Attainment does not have an expiry date, however, industry standards

recommend retraining every two years.

 Cancellations

REFUNDS

Once a Candidate has commenced a module or course, no refund is available if the Candidate elects not to complete the course or module and/ or submit an assessment for marking. A refund will only be applied if a candidate is able to provide evidence of “exceptional

circumstance” in which they would be unable to complete a course of study.

 Candidates wishing to cancel from a module/ course must submit an Application to Defer or Cancel Form to the Breight Education Director for consideration. The Application to Defer or Cancel Form is available from Breight Education Administration on request.
 Grounds for Refunds (Exceptional Circumstances)
 

Candidates who cancel from a course will only be eligible for a refund in the following circumstances:

·Breight Education withdraws the course; or

·Terminal illness (or injury) to the Student, which makes it impossible for the Candidate to complete the program. Such applications must be supported by appropriate medical documentation.

 

Examples of circumstances in which a refund will not be granted for cancellation from a module/program:

·Change of mind;

·Change of employment or working hours; or

·Domestic relocation

·Financial hardship; or

·Retrenchment (a deferral may be granted).

·Any other reason a Candidate submits as grounds for cancellation will be assessed by the Breight Education Directors on a case-by-case basis.

 Deferrals
 If a candidate experiences exceptional circumstances but does not wish to cancel from a module or course, they may apply to defer their studies to a later date. The standard deferral period is a maximum of six (6) months from the original start date. Students are entitled to a maximum of one deferral per course. Any extensions to the standard deferral period will be assessed by the Breight Education Directors on a case-by-case basis. Candidates who receive a deferral for a module or course but then fail to attend on the revised due date will be charged the full course fee.
 Payment of Refunds
 Candidates who have been granted a refund due to exceptional circumstances will receive the full purchase amount, less a $100 administration processing course enrolled (unless otherwise advised explicitly by Breight Education), within 15 working days from approval of their refund. Refunds will not be paid until any and all training materials has been returned back to Breight Education via certified mail.
 Refunds agreed by Breight Education will only be paid to the person or body (on behalf of the Student) from who the original payment was received. Where payment was made by credit card, refunds can only be made back to the credit card used in the original transaction.
COMPLAINTS AND APPEALSThe complaints and appeals policy of Breight Education provides an avenue for students to address their complaints and appeals to Breight Education Management, and have them dealt with in a constructive and timely manner. Students have access to an Informal Complaints Handling Procedure where a complaint can be discussed directly with a staff member in the hope of resolving the matter satisfactorily. Students will also be able to access a Formal Complaint and Appeals procedure and if need be, submit an appeal to an independent adjudicator, who is selected with the agreement of the student.
