CPCCLDG3001 - License to perform dogging

Learn how to safely perform dogging work - application of slinging techniques, selection and inspection of lifting gear and directing a plant operator.

What you’ll learn in this course

Licence to perform dogging consists of:

  • Australian Statutory Regulations and Codes of Practice
  • AS/NZ 2550 & 1418 Guidelines
  • Accessing material requirements for dogging/lifting tasks
  • Inspection, application and use a a variety of lifting equipment with varying dimensions/weights
  • Collaborative communication techniques used to aid in the movement of a load

Entry Requirements

Candidates must have a sufficient level of understanding with Math and English. They will be required to pass a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test before commencing this course.

Participants must be physically able to:

  • Undertake manual handling tasks
  • Carry items up to 25-30 kgs
  • Climb
  • Manoeuvre hand tools
  • Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Assessment

    A candidate cannot be deemed competent for the unit unless they are able to demonstrate satisfactory performance (to the required level) in all assessment tasks. Each candidate has a maximum of two additional opportunities to demonstrate competency without additional fees applying.
